Christy Horowitz, a founding partner of Sanford and Christy Horowitz Criminal Defense, is a former prosecutor and a compassionate advocate for her clients. She served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s office, where she also worked as an intern and certified law student while attending law school, gaining significant trial experience in the areas of domestic violence, child endangerment, driving under the influence, sex crimes, and vehicular manslaughter among others.
As a prosecutor, she was responsible for reviewing misdemeanor and felony cases, legal research, gathering and presenting evidence, working with witnesses and experts, and strong advocacy through court hearings and jury trials. Christy also resolved matters through preventative litigation and mediation including but not limited to issues regarding mental competency and health and vulnerable victims. She provides her clients individualized attention and is determined to achieve the best result in each case.
Christy has lived in Santa Barbara for the last twenty years and has volunteered for the Santa Barbara High School Mock Trial team, the Santa Barbara Food Bank, and participated in the Anti-Defamation League of Santa Barbara. She resides with her husband and law partner and her two daughters.
